About Flowspace

What is Flowspace?

Flowspace provides on-demand warehousing for businesses. We handle the storage, transportation, and service of inventory on a month-to-month basis without space minimums. Customers have access to a nationwide network of warehouses through a single easy-to-use platform.

What problem does Flowspace solve?

Flowspace solves a problem that we experienced first-hand. Our co-founder, Ben, ran a fulfillment center at a fast-growing ecommerce company and constantly needed overflow warehouse space to address seasonal peaks and unreliable forecast, but he wasn't ready to sign a long-term lease. Finding available warehouse space in his area was difficult and the warehouses he contacted required long-term commitments, lengthy software integrations, and offered confusing pricing models.

Flowspace makes finding, using, and budgeting for warehousing space and services easier. Simple pricing, flexible commitments, and easy-to-use software — these are our core principles.

Why would I use Flowspace?

The majority of our customers use Flowspace so that they can focus on their business and not on their warehouse. Because we offer an easy-to-use inventory management system and flexible month-to-month terms, it's easy to expand your warehousing as your business grows. Many customers use Flowspace for business storage to hold overflow inventory, direct to customer shipping, or to accommodate an influx in inventory due to seasonal demands. Others use Flowspace as a no-risk way to launch distribution centers in new cities without taking on new leases.

Where are your warehouses located?

Flowspace has hundreds of warehouses located in every major metropolitan area. Our warehouses are fully staffed by professionals, and offer a variety of services such as organic or FDA certifications, cold storage, and more.

Why are you better than a storage unit?

When you put your products in a storage unit you need to be there to receive and ship them. When you use Flowspace, our professional staff will unload your palletized shipments and receive them into our inventory software that provides you with real-time visibility. When you are ready to ship the products back to yourself or a customer, simply create a request in our software and we'll take care of the rest. Storage units are also relatively small, expensive on a square foot basis, and rarely have loading docks.

Why wouldn't I just lease a warehouse on my own?

Leasing a warehouse is great when you have a reliable forecast, little seasonality, and money to invest for improvements and equipment. Unfortunately, that isn't the case for most us, and we end up paying for space we are not utilizing and wasting labor hours when order forecasts differ from our expectations.

With Flowspace, we offer you the ability to pay for only what you use, and we include standard warehousing services, such as loading and shipping, as available options. You can remove your goods from the warehouse at any given time.

How do I manage the inventory moving in and out of the warehouse?

Flowspace provides an online inventory system to help you manage your inventory in and out of the warehouse and to track your shipments to and from the warehouse.

Where is the Flowspace warehouse located?

Flowspace has a network of hundreds of warehouses that offer same-day service to most metropolitan areas.


What do your fees include?

If storing pallets, our price consists of three simple fees: unloading the pallets of product that you ship to the warehouse, storing the pallets on a monthly basis, and shipping the pallets to a new location, if necessary. You pay for only the pallets at the warehouse, without a minimum number of pallets required.

Our pricing is based on the assumption that the pallets are rackable (under 7 ft high). If you have inventory that doesn't fit into that category, we can help, but please request a quote to get the appropriate rates.

If you are renting a dedicated area of space, the fee is a simple price per square foot. Prices will vary by region and Flowspace works within our network to find the best rate for you.

What happens if I move my inventory in at the end of the month?

Your monthly billing cycle will start on the first day your inventory arrives at the warehouse.

What is a "pallet in" and "pallet out"?

A "pallet in" is the work involved with unloading the pallet from a truck, inspecting it for damage, entering it into the inventory system, and putting it away into stock. These are the pallets that you or your supplier send our warehouse.

A "pallet out" is the work involved with picking a full pallet from stock, decrementing the pallet from inventory, and loading it onto the truck. These are the pallets we send to you or your customer.


You mention that you offer other services. How much would that cost?

Flowspace offers additional warehousing and fulfillment services such as shrinkwrapping, kitting, unloading floor loaded containers, applying labels to items, and direct to consumer and direct to business shipping.

Do you offer shipping or freight deliveries?

Yes, please just tell us more about what you are shipping and we will arrange the carriers for you. We will give you a pricing estimate before proceeding with the pick-up and delivery.

Can my employees work in your facility?

No. Flowspace offers fully-staffed solutions and there is usually no need for your employees to work in the facility. We've got it covered!

What happens if my inventory gets damaged?

While rare, please contact us and we will work to make the situation right.

What kinds of products do you store?

Our pricing models assume ambient temperature storage, and we work with all types of products from candy, dry foods, appliances and bedding. At this time, we do not store alcohol or anything that is hazardous.

Account Management

How can I cancel my account?

You will be required to pay any outstanding fees and then transfer your goods out of the warehouse. At that point, please contact us and we will cancel your service. We will prorate your costs for the month based on when your goods are out of the warehouse.
